Greetings President

Dear Fellows,

I am delighted to announce that I have been selected to serve as the President of InaHRS for a period of three years, starting from 2022. It is an immense privilege to be granted this opportunity, and I am grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me.

Arrhythmia is a condition that affects the rhythm or rate of the heartbeat. Over the years, there have been remarkable advancements in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia, thanks to the efforts of previous presidents, board members, and members of the InaHRS since its founding in 2013.

The current treatment options for arrhythmia are diverse and include both pharmacological and non-pharmacological approaches. Non-pharmacological techniques such as catheter ablation and cardiac devices have emerged as popular treatment options in recent years. These techniques have proven to be highly effective in controlling and treating arrhythmia, reducing symptoms, improving the quality of life, and prolonging patients' lives.

In Indonesia, there have been significant strides in the diagnosis and treatment of arrhythmia. These developments have been made possible thanks to the hard work and dedication of all members of the InaHRS. As a society, we must work together to overcome the many challenges that we face. We are looking forward to what the future holds as we continue to build upon our past achievements and attain even greater accomplishments.

As the President of InaHRS, I assure you that I will address these issues further with utmost dedication and enthusiasm. With the support and encouragement of our board members and members, I am confident that we can make significant progress towards achieving our shared goals.

History

Interventional therapies for arrhythmia have progressed rapidly in the past few decades. There is a rapid growing trend for electrophysiologic procedure and implantation of cardiac implantable electronic devices. The amount is expected to be growing fast in the coming years because of increasing awareness. However, significant inequalities exist in healthcare in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmia.

Unfortunately at the present time, the number of cardiologist in Indonesia is limited. Approximately 500 cardiologist serving a population of 250 million, among them only a limited member of cardiac electrophysiologists.

The Indonesian Heart Rhythm society was established in april 2013 during the 23rd Annual Scientific Meeting of Indonesian Heart Association (ASMIHA) in Jakarta, as a working group for electrophysiology and pacing of the Indonesian Heart Association.

The idea was to promote scientifically, technological, and clinical development for interventional therapies of cardiac arrhytmia but also improve healthcare for patients

Indonesian Heart Rhythm Society (InaHRS) has a commitment to improve health of heart rhythm disorder in Indonesia.
